Boonville Investigation Report.

Title:
303 S. 1st Street, Boonville. IN.
Date: July 9, 2005
Researchers: Southern Indiana Paranormal Investigators and MESA
( Multi-Energy Sensor Array ) By Timothy M. Harte, MA, LCPC
Summary:

The Southern Indiana Paranormal Investigators asked MESA to do an investigation of a
house in Boonville, Indiana. It is located at 303 South 1st Street in Boonville, Indiana,
47601. The weather was warm with slight clouds. This home is over 120 years old and
has an attic, two floors, and a basement. A family has lived there for about three years,
and has experienced some unusual phenomena.

Introduction:

The Southern Indiana Paranormal Investigators were informed that the house had unusual
activity. The family had experienced visual forms or disturbances, sensed presences, sleep
disturbances and night terrors, fear and sudden onset of emotions, tactile sensations, auditory
phenomena of children playing, a woman crying, footsteps, erratic
functioning of equipment with light bulbs, cold spots or chills in certain areas, orbs have
been captured on video, both the pet cat and dog have had strange responses at times,
object movement, and the olfactory experience of tobacco on occasions.

Method: MESA was set up on the second floor, in one of the children's bedrooms, and
sampled this area approximate for one hour, two repeated measures were completed.
Digital and 35mm cameras were utilized.

Apparatus: The MESA computer system has been described elsewhere (Harte, Black,
Hollinshead, 1999; Harte Black, Hollinshead, & Mitchell, 2001) and this investigation
will focus on anomalous results of the investigation. The researchers are primarily
looking for a 7 mG change in the fields measured. A sampling rate of 40 times per
second was programmed, as this is the usual rate. Sound and video systems were utilized
at this site. An infrared camera (Clover Electronics, www.cloverelectronics.com) a
Behringer mixer and PZM ( pressure zone microphone, Radio Shack) were connected to a
video cassette recorder. The two-camera system was deployed in another room on the
second floor, and also in the hallway off the bedroom.

Site 1: "303 South First"

Channel 1: Infrared light sensor: The infrared shows a line of 7 footcandles over the
sampling period. The researchers think this is a pattern emanated by the infrared camera.
There are 5 negative spikes to 5 or more footcandles, and this is anomalous.
Channel 2: Visible light sensor: The visible light is about 70 footcandles over the
sampling period. This may be the result of the lighting in the room, but the lights were
turned off. This is not unusual because of other rooms that had lights on at the time.
Channel 3: Ultraviolet light sensor: The ultraviolet light in this room is anomalous. It is
a very l0w level, less then 1 mW pre centimeter squared, and the researchers could not locate
a source for this ultraviolet light.
Channel 4: Tri-Field Meter: The Tri-Field Meter recorded some 0.3 to 0.5 mG changes
during this sampling period. What would account for this would be a 60 Hz electricity
source from wiring in the room. This is not unusual for this room.
Channel 5: Vibration: This sensor recorded the vibration of the floor in this room, and it
appears to be normal.
Channel 6: Static magnetic sensor pointed WEST: This sensor recorded a spike from 0.5 mG to 3 mG, then back 1 to 2.5 mG This may be enough of a change to cause sensed
presences.
Channel 7: Static magnetic sensor pointed UP: This graph shows a rise from 1 mG
to over 4 mG during the sampling period. This change could cause a sensed presence type of
feeling.
Channel 8: Static magnetic sensor pointed NORTH: This graph shows a rise from -1
mG to about 4 mG over the sampling period. This could cause a sensed presence type of
feeling.

Site 2: "number 2"

Channel 1: Infrared light sensor: The infrared show a a line of 7 footcandles over the
sampling period. The researchers think this is a pattern emanated by the infrared camera.
There are 5 negative spikes to 4, and one to 3 or more footcandles, and this is anomalous.
Channel 2: Visible light sensor: The visible light is about 70 footcandles during the
sampling period. This may be as the result of the lighting in the room, but the lights were
turned off. This is not unusual because of other rooms that had lights on at the time.
Channel 3: Ultraviolet light sensor: The ultraviolet light in this room is anomalous. It is
a very low level, less then 1 mW per centimeter squared, and the researchers could not locate
a source for this ultraviolet light.
Channel 4: Tri-Field Meter: The Tri-Field Meter recorded some 0.25 to 0.5 mG changes
during this sampling period. What would account for this would be a 60 Hz electricity source
from the wiring in the room.
Channel 5: Vibration: This sensor recorded the vibration of the floor in this room, and it
appears to be normal.
Channel 6: Static magnetic sensor pointed WEST: This sensor recorded 0 to less then
1 mG changes over the sampling period. Nothing unusual.
Channel 7: Static magnetic sensor pointed UP: This sensor recorded 0.5 mG changes
to about 3 mG over the sampling period. The field is very active in the UP orientation. The
results of this energy may be enough for a sensed presence feeling.
Channel 8: Static magnetic sensor pointed NORTH: During analysis of the data for this
sensor, a file was corrupted or could not be analyzed. This is very unusual, and the researchers
think this is cause of "erratic functioning of equipment" another sing of haunt activity. We still
cannot explain why the data could not be analyzed.

Photographs: The two-camera system was deployed in a room and the hallway directly
across from the bedroom. No anomalous images were recorded.
Video: MESA utilized an infrared camera at both sites sampled. No anomalous images
were recorded.
Audio: No anomalous audio was recorded during the investigation.

Subjective results: Billy Miller had several unusual incidents happen to him and others
in the Southern Indiana Paranormal Investigators group during the investigation. He
described it as a sensed presence or cold spot and chills, in a turret room in the attic area.
He also said that one of the camera tripods had been cranked up after he disassembled
the 2- camera system.

Discussion: MESA will attempt to do another investigation with the Southern Indiana
Paranormal Investigators at a future date. We would to think the family for allowing
us to investigate this home.
